Construction Meter Guidelines
  • Charges for water used and the base meter fee will be billed monthly at the District's current rates.
  • If relocation to another hydrant is requested, a non-refundable service charge of $80.00 will be billed.
  • If the meter is lost or stolen while in the applicant's possession the $1000.00 deposit is automatically forfeited.
  • If the meter is damaged, we will bill the cost of time and material for repairs.
  • The meter will be chain-locked to a District fire hydrant. Removing this meter by other than District personnel will result in a penalty of $500.00. More than one violation will result in the District removing the meter and terminating the agreement.
  • The meter may be rented for a maximum of six months, after which time the District will automatically pull the meter unless the rental agreement is renewed.
  • It is the user's responsibility to notify the District when you are done with the meter so that we can remove it. The District will assume no responsibility for any charges incurred prior to the date of notification.
  • Hydrant wrenches and adaptors are not supplied by Santa Fe Irrigation District. Any special connections are to be provided by the customer.
